IDEA

Aimed for individuals in the early stages of their entrepreneurship or considering initiating a business.

IDEA is a program designed to help you obtain clarity about the long-term results you want for your business; define, implement plans, processes and systems that will help you create a company or project that gives you a sense of meaning that becomes a source of fulfilment and satisfaction for your life.

The program content is in five stages. Although all are important, to obtain the results you expect for your start-up, I recommend you take at least the first three parts of the Scheduled program.

Stage 1 - Diagnosis

At this stage, we will delve into the how, why and what of your business. Where you are at this moment regarding your company’s journey and what does “business success” means to you.

This first step will allow us to identify the path that suits your needs, complemented with the resources that will lead you to sustainable success.

We will be reviewing:

  • The long-term vision for your life and your company.
  • Values that guide your life and business.
  • Structure, processes and systems in your business.
  • Goals, objectives and strategies in the short, medium and long term.
  • Current performance.
  • What’s working and what’s not

Ideally, we will cover this stage in a week holding a couple of meetings to diagnose the current state, processes and systems of your business proposal.

Stage 2 - Design and Planning

With the information generated from Stage 1, we will define, update and/or formalize the key elements of your venture and find the path to your sustainable success, using tools such as brainstorming, option analysis, root cause analysis, problem solving, planning scenarios, etc.

It will include:

  • A clear long-term vision for your life and business.
  • The gap between where you are now and your long-term vision.
  • The mission statement based on why and for what you undertook or are undertaking your business venture.
  • The values that guide you as an entrepreneur.
  • Structure, processes and/or systems to improve your efficiency and results.
  • SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats).
  • Short, medium and long-term goals.
  • Short-term goals and needs.

We will cover this stage in 1 to 2 weeks managing to make creative and productive meetings looking forward to establishing the path for you and your business, towards your long-term vision.

Stage 3 - Execution and Control

Managing all the tools brought from previous stages, we will define specific and immediate goals, objectives, actions, and the methodology for evaluating the results to create an adjusted plan.At the end of this stage, you will have:

  • A set of goals and objectives for twelve months.
  • Clear priorities.
  • Specific goals and objectives and a detailed action plan for the next twelve weeks, including due dates, responsibilities, resources, etc.
  • Key performance indicators to evaluate your progress and results.
  • A process to evaluate results and update the action plan.
  • Systems and processes implemented that will allow you to optimize the performance of your business.

I propose we evaluate results weekly to make the most out of this stage, this will allow you have a quick view of obstacles that were overlooked during the diagnosis, reap early victories and recognise strengths and weaknesses hidden during the previous evaluation.

This stage includes support to have a detailed action plan and during the twelve weeks of its implementation.

Stage 4 - Measurement and Improvement

Once the first twelve-week action plan is executed, we will assess the progress towards your twelve-month goals, adjust direction if necessary, and use the lessons learned to plan the following twelve weeks.

Activities will include:

  • Update the goals and priorities for twelve months, according to the results obtained.
  • Optimize the systems and processes implemented.
  • Take advantage of the lessons learned to improve processes, systems and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and update the goals, objectives and priorities defined in Stage 2 and Stage 3 to reflect the necessary results and changes.
  • Define the goals, objectives and action plan for the next twelve weeks.
  • Update performance indicators and evaluation mechanisms.

Having my support throughout the implementation of the plan for the next twelve weeks is optional. You can decide if you want to continue alone.

Stage 5 Monitoring & Improvement

From the planning in Stage 4 we can keep on walking together for another twelve weeks; using monitoring processes on a monthly basis to support your evolution through the review of results, recognition and celebration of your achievements, identification of opportunities for improvement and confirmation that all new processes, tools and systems that will help you create a sustainable success are internalised.

Throughout this stage, which is optional, we will evaluate trends in your results, obstacles and market conditions in order to anticipate changes in your objectives and strategies if needed.
